- Once formatting is complete, you can use the camera as normal.
- All pictures taken during this time will be saved onto the memory card instead of being saved onto your phone’s storage space.
- When you want to take a picture with the SD Card installed, go to Record Video and press the R key when prompted for a file name at which point it will prompt for an input from your SD Card or mobile device (if applicable).
Locate the sd card slot
The Merkury MP-P150 has two slots for SD cards. One slot is located on the side of the unit and one slot is located underneath the battery. The SD card slot on the side of the unit can be accessed by pressing down on a small plastic tab near where it says SD. The SD card slot underneath the battery needs to be accessed through opening up a small door that can be found by turning over your camera and looking at the bottom. Once you have opened up this door, you will see a smaller door that needs to be opened in order to access your storage slot. Open this second door by pushing it away from you with your finger or fingernail. Insert the SD card carefully into the slot, then push firmly until it clicks into place. Close both doors before continuing to use your camera!
Insert the sd card
- Gently pull the back cover off the camera.
- Locate the SD slot on the side of the device, and insert your memory card into it.
- The memory card should now be securely seated inside of your device and ready for use!
- Re-attach the back panel by gently pushing it down over the unit’s main components until it clicks into place.
- Your device is now set up and ready for use! To take a picture, press the silver button on top of your device with a circle around it. To review pictures you’ve taken or to change settings, press the blue button that says menu on it. Use the navigation pad to go through different pages: one showing general information about your camera, two showing the most recent images taken, three showing videos captured by your device (you can’t record videos without a sd card), four showing some basic editing options (brightness, contrast, saturation)
. Now let’s get back to installation!
Replace the battery
- Turn the camera on and insert the memory card.
- Press the Menu button on the back of the camera, select Format and confirm that you want to format the memory card by pressing OK.
- Press Exit on your menu button and you are done! The new memory card is installed and ready to use. Memory cards can be removed from the bottom of the camera when it is powered off and ejected like a disk from a computer. When this process is completed, reinsert the battery and power up the camera. Formatting may take a while so please be patient. If the formatting was successful, the main screen will display an O (for okay) next to FORMAT. If not, an X (for error) will appear next to FORMAT.
Format the sd card
The first thing you want to do is remove the battery and the memory card. There is a small switch on the side of your camera that will allow you to remove them. Next, slide the new memory card into the slot with metal contacts facing up and away from you. Make sure that it’s firmly seated, then place the battery back into its compartment and turn your camera back on. Your camera should detect that there is now an SD card installed and prompt you for what size video resolution you would like. If this doesn’t happen, look at the bottom left corner of your screen. You should see FORMAT READY written underneath where you selected which video resolution to use. Press that button and follow the on-screen instructions to format your SD card. Once complete, press if you’re not ready to start recording yet.
